Colorado River Report 6-1922

WATER CONDITIONS: We have seen the peak of runoff, but big flows will persist for a bit longer. Cooler nights make for a cleaner river the next morning.

FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Caddis, BWOs, Green Drakes, Golden Stoneflies, Pale Morning Duns, Midges

THE LOW DOWN: Change is happening quickly, but anglers will need to stay patient for another week or two as our runoff conditions persist just a bit longer. Afternoons have yielded better water clarity, and as always, cool nights make for a much cleaner river the next day.

The twilight green drake hatch is getting started and will improve in the coming weeks. Midday hatches of caddis, PMDs, Yellow Sallies and golden stoneflies are already commonplace.

HINTS: Keep an eye on overnight temps/rain and hope for some warmer and cloudy days soon. The fish are piled up deep for the most part!
