Colorado River Report 1-9-21

January 9, 2021
FLOW: 1180 cfs in Glenwood Springs
WATER CONDITIONS: Clear and low, getting chunky after cold overnight temps
OVERALL RATING: 4 out 10
FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Midges
THE LOW DOWN: Midges are still in abundance. It's time for downsizing on everything from tippets to fly sizes. Watch the foam lines in the slower sections of the river, the bugs can accumulate there and the fish relate to them some days better than others.
Streamer Junkies, it's time! We all love tying and fishing those giant articulated streamers, but try something small if you're not feeling the love.
No need to put on the river super early, let it warm up a bit and get those bugs moving around.
HATCHES: Midges 16-22
