CRYSTAL RIVER REPORT
November 25, 2020
FLOW: 15 CFS in Carbondale, 45 CFS in Redstone and above
WATER CONDITIONS: The river is quite low in Carbondale, head up towards Redstone for better fishing conditions.
OVERALL RATING: 3 out of 10 down low, 6 out of 10 up high
FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Midges, Sculpins, BWOs
THE LOW DOWN: As we ease in to wintertime, there's some great fishing to be had on the Crystal.. Flows are low and clear, but if you head up a few miles you'll see more water in the river.
Most of you know this is the river to find some solitude, many visitors are focused on the world-renowned Fryingpan, Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers.
No need to overthink this river, find some of the pools and runs and show them your favorite smaller attractor flies.

DRIES: Griffith's Gnat 20-22, Parachute Adams 16-20, Stimulator 18, TC Sparkledun BWO 18-22
HINTS: Don't ignore the shallow riffles, they are often loaded with sculpins and insects.
