CRYSTAL RIVER REPORT

FLOW: 1060 CFS in Carbondale
WATER CONDITIONS: Big but dropping now
OVERALL RATING: 3 out of 10 as we see higher than "normal" flows
FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Caddis, Midges, BWO adults and nymphs, Golden Stoneflies, salmonflies, craneflies, PMD nymphs, worms
THE LOW DOWN: The Crystal is well above "normal" flows right now, but we are seeing opportunities here in there in soft water and deeper pools. Like any freestone, if you keep heading up in elevation you'll generally find smaller flows as you get above feeder creeks and streams. The conditions look quite different (most days) above Redstone versus below.
HATCHES: Salmonflies 4-8, Golden stoneflies 6-10, PMDs 14-18, Caddis 14-18, BWOs 18-20, midges 18-26
