Crystal River Report November 29, 2025
Posted on 29 November 2025

WATER CONDITIONS: Clear
OVERALL RATING: 4 out of 10
FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Blue Winged Olives, Midges, Sculpins, Eggs
THE LOW DOWN: Flows have turned back on down towards C-dale now that water is no longer being diverted. Now our concern is focused on protecting the spawning beds present on these lower stretches near the Fork. Please be mindful of where you're stepping.
Attractors are always a part of our Crystal boxes. These fish just don't see enough pressure to be prejudiced against the ol' Zebra Midge. If you're hunting for the larger, smarter fish, your box will look near identical to every other river in the valley right now -- tiny midges and Blue Winged Olives, split shot and an indicator.
Expect upper stretches toward Marble to start freezing over/collecting snow as the December rolls in.
The higher you go, the prettier it gets, the lower the flow, and the less fishermen you'll see. The Crystal River is considered the local's stash, especially for those that abhor seeing other anglers.
