FLOW: 4360 CFS in Glenwood Springs
WATER CONDITIONS: We have seen the peak of runoff and the river is dropping quickly.
OVERALL RATING: 7 out of 10
FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Caddis, BWOs, Green Drakes, Golden Stoneflies, Pale Morning Duns, Midges
THE LOW DOWN: Change is happening quickly, and conditions are vastly improved. Afternoons have yielded better water clarity, and as always, cool nights make for a much cleaner river the next day.
The twilight green drake hatch is getting started and will improve in the coming weeks. Midday hatches of caddis, PMDs, Yellow Sallies and golden stoneflies are already commonplace.
