We've seen the Crystal spike a few times, especially in late March when it got hot here. Our concern is focused on protecting the spawning beds present on these lower stretches near the Fork. Please be mindful of where you're stepping.

Attractors are always a part of our Crystal boxes. These fish just don't see enough pressure to be prejudiced against the ol' Zebra Midge. If you're hunting for the larger, smarter fish, your box will look near identical to every other river in the valley right now -- caddis, stonefly nymphs, tiny midges and Blue Winged Olives, split shot and an indicator.

The higher you go, the prettier it gets, the lower the flow, and the less fishermen you'll see. The Crystal River is considered the local's stash, especially for those that abhor seeing other anglers.
